UNC Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
At UNC Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, we treat conditions of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles, as well as the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. We strive to improve the health, function and wellness of people who have disabling conditions such as brain tumors, fibromyalgia, epilepsy and arthritis.
Our doctors are called physiatrists. We develop personalized treatment plans and provide prescriptions for medications, equipment and therapy services. We often work with healthcare professionals in other fields (called a multidisciplinary team).
We offer outpatient consultations, ongoing visits for long-term conditions and state-of-the-art procedures to diagnose and treat conditions.
