Epilepsy

The UNC Epilepsy Center has been nationally recognized by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers for its capacity to conduct the most complex forms of diagnostic evaluations and treatment options available.

Patient care begins with a thorough and extensive clinical evaluation at a clinic or hospital by one of our epileptologists, some of whom are nationally recognized in the field of epilepsy. Our specialists evaluate over 2,000 patients annually and the Center has provided the highest quality of care to patients with seizure, epilepsy and unknown spells since 1984.

We offer a full spectrum of diagnostic tools and treatment options including medical management, diet therapy, device therapy and various surgical therapies.

In addition, we actively participate in various research studies to provide better diagnostic and treatment options, from clinical drug trials to basic science.
