Neurocritical Care

Neurocritical care is a specialty that provides treatment for patients with severe neurological injury or illness. We offer a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that includes a team comprised of neurologists; neurosurgeons; neurointensivists with training in critical care, neurology and emergency medicine; acute care nurse practitioners; critical care pharmacists; and critical care nurses.

Conditions We Treat

Our team of experts provides the highest level of care for patients with a wide range of complex and life-threatening neurological conditions including:

  • Subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • Intracranial hemorrhage
  • Traumatic brain and spinal cord injury
  • CNS infections
  • Status epilepticus
  • Acute stroke
  • Neuro-oncology emergencies and acute neuromuscular disease

In addition, our neurocritical care research team is actively involved in a broad array of research aimed at better understanding acute neurological disorders, providing improved treatment options for patients with brain injury, and improving upon the delivery and safety of patient care.
