With a licensed base of 830 beds, this facility serves as an acute-care teaching hospital for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The UNC Medical Center consists of North Carolina Memorial Hospital, North Carolina Children’s Hospital, North Carolina Neurosciences Hospital, North Carolina Women’s Hospital and North Carolina Cancer Hospital.
