Application FAQs

Interview

Applicants chosen to continue through the selection process will be interviewed using behavioral-based questions. To prepare for this interview style:

  • List the required and preferred skills and qualities noted in the job description.
  • Think of specific times when you exhibited these characteristics. Work experiences are preferred; however, you may use examples from school or your personal life as well.
  •  Search the internet or check the library for sample behavioral interview questions. You will be asked about unsuccessful scenarios as well as your positive experiences.
  • Practice giving responses to the questions. Each of your answers should have three parts:
  1. The situation or task faced
  2. Your action or inaction
  3. The result

Candidates who prepare for this process prior to interviewing will increase their chances for a productive experience.

Offers

If you are selected for the role, you will receive an offer from the recruiter. After accepting the offer you will receive onboarding communication from UNC Health Care to prepare you for orientation and your first days.

Orientation

Depending on whether you are a new or existing employee, you will attend either a one or two-day orientation. New employees will bring all completed employee paperwork to the first day of orientation and then enjoy breakfast and a welcome from leaders and staff.
