Parking and Transportation Options

Self-Park Options

Public parking is available in the Dogwood Deck across from UNC Hospitals and in the parking lot at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) on Mason Farm Road. These parking options cost $1.50 per hour or fraction of an hour, with a maximum of $10 per day. At the ACC, patients can have parking validated at their appointments. Validated parking is free.

For information about long-term parking options, contact the hospital parking office at 984-974-1031.

Dogwood Parking Deck Pay Stations

Credit card station in the Dogwood deckIn early 2024, pay stations were installed in the Dogwood Deck, allowing visitors and patients to self pay for their parking. Look for the signs directing you to “pay on foot.”

When you drive into the parking deck, take a ticket at the gate. Keep that ticket with you when you visit UNC Hospitals. When you return to the parking deck, stop at the pay station with your ticket to pay. When you leave the parking deck, license plate recognition technology will raise the exit gates for prepaid and validated customers.

  • If you did not have your parking ticket validated, stop at a pay station on the first or second floor to pay for your parking with a credit or debit card. The exit gate will lift automatically.
  • If you need to pay with cash, drive to the parking booth at the exit and pay the cashier. If there’s no cashier in the booth, press the intercom button to speak to an agent.
