AHA Instructor Development Program
UNC Hospitals Advanced Life Support Programs AHA Instructor classes are open to UNC Hospitals staff and to persons not aligned with UNC Hospitals or its affiliates.
Fees for instructor classes includes: Class, Monitoring, Training Center Alignment.
NOTE: UNCH employees should inquire about instructor class or Instructor Development Program fees. All fees listed on this site are for persons not employed by UNC Medical Center.
Prerequisite: Everyone attending an AHA Instructor course is required to complete the AHA Essentials course specific for the instructor course you take. This course can be found on the AHA Instructor Site. You must bring a copy of the AHA Essentials certificate with you to instructor class.
All classes are held at the UNCH ALS Programs Training Center, 1101 Weaver Dairy Road, Suite 104, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

Fee: $500 (class only)
Every student who attends an AHA instructor class is required to have and bring to class a current AHA Provider manual and a current AHA Instructor manual for the discipline for which you are seeking to become an instructor. As of this posting, the current text are copyright 2011. In addition the AHA requires everyone attending an instructor class take their online Instructor Essentials course specific to the instructor class you are taking.
If you have an urgent need to obtain an AHA Instructor approval, we can work with you to create an individualized Instructor Development Program. AHA Instructor Essentials (required when taking any instructor class)
Anyone attending an AHA Instructor class must complete the online AHA Instructor Essentials course specific for the discipline and bring the certificate of completion with them to class. You can locate the Instructor Essentials course at www.onlineaha.org.
If you have a group of six or more persons who wish to become instructors, we may be willing to set up a class for your group. Please contact us using the inquiry link above.
*The AHA Essentials is an online course required by the AHA to become an instructor in any discipline. It is discipline specific, ACLS for ACLS instructor, etc. Just bring a copy of your certificate of completion with you to your class. If you need to take the course, you can do so online at the www.onlineaha.org.
