Network Physician Recruitment

The UNC Network Physician Recruitment department serves as a resource in several areas, including combined advertising, sourcing of physician candidates, and pre-visit vetting.

Our team was formed in 2016 to provide Physician and Advanced Practice Provider recruitment support for most of our owned and managed network entities.

Our team focuses on streamlining recruitment and on-boarding of physicians as well as providing guidance on best practices for our network’s onsite recruitment departments.

Since Fiscal Year 2020, our provider hires have more than doubled, and in 2023, our team onboarded 317 Physicians and APPs.

Our department is led by Dee Gabriel, who is the Executive Director. We also have a director who supports the department’s outreach initiatives, eight recruiters, three recruitment and sourcing consultants, and a project coordinator.

To further increase our pipeline development, we have a marketing consultant dedicated to creating recruiting content through our social media pages as well as other marketing platforms.

We offer outreach to local residency and fellowship programs including UNC School of Medicine. Our outreach equips professional career development in the form of CV and cover letter preparation interview tips, as well as an overview of the contracts and credentialing process.

Our team provides quarterly email outreach to over 300 training programs across the nation to keep them informed regarding current openings and incentives.
