Rotation Description:
The UNC Hospitals Endocrinology Clinic at Eastowne provides specialized care to patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders, including obesity, osteoporosis, and pituitary and thyroid dysfunction. The pharmacist-run clinic provides services 3 to 4 days per week via a protocol-driven Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner agreement. At the conclusion of the rotation, residents are expected to demonstrate the ability to conduct an ambulatory care patient interview, form an assessment, and design, implement, and monitor medication therapy plans targeted to disease-specific outcome goals. Residents will provide direct patient care during clinic visits, advise Endocrine providers regarding optimal medication therapy, and deliver educational resources to patients and the healthcare team
