Rotation Description

Due to the large number of PGY1 residents, my clinical position is a critical care float. As a critical care float pharmacist, the main services I cover are the Medicine ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, and Burn ICU. I also will provide coverage to the Neurosciences ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Emergency Department from time to time. While covering these services, I provide the care and services that the clinical specialists are expected to while still being able to practice at a high level and be a member of the multidisciplinary team. If there are residents on services that I am covering, I have the same expectations as the primary preceptor for the resident and will provide learning opportunities as warranted. I enjoy being able to work with and teach my own PGY1 residents throughout the year so they may see my passion and love in being a critical care pharmacist and I can watch them grow and become great pharmacists.
