Rotation Description
The Medicine ICU rotation provides residents the opportunity to be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team. The focus areas of this rotation include interacting with a medical team, collecting and analyzing information in the medical record, and designing and implementing pharmacotherapy plans for complex medically ill patients. This 30-bed ICU in a tertiary academic medical center setting provides exposure to a wide breadth of acuity and variety of medical problems, including but not limited to septic shock, respiratory failure, DKA, liver and renal failure, pneumonia and CF exacerbations, pulmonary hypertension, GI bleeding, oncologic emergencies, and toxicological / withdrawal emergencies.
