Inpatient BMT/Outpatient BMT Clinic
Rotation Description:
Learners on the BMT rotations will be immersed in the daily management of patients prior to, during, and after autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants. Learners will provide pre-admission counseling, daily management during hospitalization which includes all discharge medication counseling, and post-discharge counseling to all BMT patients. We will cover topics such as infectious complications, acute & chronic graft-versus host disease, engraftment syndrome, VOD/SOS, and pulmonary complications of transplant. Learners may also have the opportunity to work with patients enrolled on clinical trials as part of the BMT Cellular Therapy program.
