Acute Care Malignant Hematology
Rotation Description:
The acute care malignant hematology rotation is a learning experience in which the resident will develop skills associated with the management of patients with hematologic malignancies. Primary treatments of key malignancies, relevant supportive care, and management of complications will be emphasized. Additionally, the rotation will focus on building skills to provide chemotherapy-related patient education and comprehensive medication management services.
Covered topics may include but are not limited to:
1) Acute lymphoblastic leukemia
2) Acute myelogenous leukemia
3) Non-hodgkin lymphoma
4) Febrile neutropenia
5) Infection management
6) Tumor lysis syndrome
