Inpatient Malignant Hematology
Rotation Description:
Patients admitted to MDE3 (Hematology/Oncology) are managed by teams of Attending Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Clinical Pharmacy Specialists. Common diseases encountered are leukemias, lymphomas, and multiple myeloma. Pharmacy learners make medication recommendations, formulate monitoring plans, counsel patients, review chemotherapy regimens, write notes in the medical record, review discharge medication reconciliations, and assist with outpatient medication access.
