Oncology Ambulatory Care / Chemotherapy Policy

Rotation Description:

UNC-Hillsborough Outpatient Infusion Center is rapidly growing and combines a community-based physician that sees "all-comers" with specialty clinics on specific days. We currently have a busy GI Clinic (Dr. Sanoff) on Thursdays and breast cancer patients several days a week.

Optional experiences are available in chemotherapy policy, clinical pathways, and public speaking through a Toastmasters club that meets at the hospital on Thursdays. The primary preceptor co-chairs the chemotherapy policy committee and formerly ran a clinical pathways program. A resident on this rotation would get experience with a variety of cancers, and be given the opportunity to run the clinical service as independently as possible their last two weeks.
