Rotation Description
The Pediatric Rheumatology clinic is located in the UNC Children’s Hospital as well as the UNC Children’s Specialty Clinic in Raleigh. The pharmacy resident will gain experience primarily in managing patients with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Juvenile Dermatomyositis and other rare pediatric rheumatologic conditions. The resident will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to perform medication reconciliation, review the appropriateness of prescribed medications, provide patient counseling, answer drug information questions, assess potential adverse drug reactions, and assist with medication access.
