Pediatric Infectious Diseases & Antimicrobial Stewardship
Rotation Description:
The Pediatric Infectious Diseases rotation exposes learners to general principles of infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship in the pediatric population. Experiences on this rotation involve participation in rounds with the infectious diseases consult team as well as performing activities related to antimicrobial stewardship. The learner will gain knowledge of common infectious disease states, antimicrobial spectrum of activity, pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics, safe & effective dosing of antimicrobials, and fundamentals of antimicrobial stewardship. The learner will be expected to demonstrate competency in above mentioned areas via topic discussions as well as an in-service or project of their choosing.
