Why UNC

As a pharmacy student at UNC, I experienced first-hand the pharmacists' strong presence as part of an interdisciplinary team and extensive opportunities for direct patient care. UNC's oncology program stood out to me with its numerous disease-specific clinics, progressive clinical roles of pharmacists practicing as CPPs, and dedication to invidiualized training. In addition to the rigorous clinical rotations in both inpatient and outpatient settings, it is evident UNC strives to develop well-rounded residents through professional development series, teaching assistant roles, and various leadership repsonsibilities. UNC is also unique in having a large resident class size, which I have come to appreciate the strong support system built among my co-residents. It is clear UNC's commitment to teaching and upholding a positive and supportive culture, which is exactly the environment in which I was seeking to continue my residency training. I am honored to have the opportunity to train at UNC and excited for a great year of growth as a Tar Heel!
