Why UNC

I was drawn to UNC's residency program because of its unique pharmacotherapy program. The great variety of rotations and the opportunities to tailor learning and training to my own interests offered by UNC's pharmacotherapy program were particularly attractive to me. I wanted to train myself and seek deep exposure in many different areas such as ambulatory care, oncology, and psychiatry and this program should offer me all the flexibility and opportunities to fulfill my goals in this regard. In addition, the chance to do a longitudinal 18-month research project and be involved in teaching at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy was especially appealing to me. UNC has turned out to be the best place where I will grow and become a well-rounded clinician.
Last but not least, what has proved that I have made the right choice of choosing UNC is the people here! Coming from California, since day 1 of my residency, I have felt very supported by my residency program directors, preceptors, and coresidents. This is a very nurturing learning environment where I, I am becoming increasingly convinced, will thrive as a person and as a pharmacy professional.
