Why UNC

I chose to pursue the Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency at UNC Medical Center due to the breadth of opportunity that exists within pharmacy enterprise. I was searching for a clinically rigorous PGY1 year that would challenge me to become well-versed in patient care, while also enabling me to realize the value that clinical pharmacists bring to interdisciplinary teams. I also wanted the opportunity to have a hands-on learning experience within the Shared Services Center which aims to improve health system collaboration by streamlining innovative care models, integrating technology within pharmacy operations, and improving access to medications across the UNC Health enterprise. In addition to the technical skills that I could gain by completing a residency at UNC Medical Center, I valued the opportunity to improve my professional network with pharmacy leaders across the nation, as the program has a strong history of producing innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking pharmacy leaders who are prepared to tackle the challenges of an ever-changing healthcare landscape.
