Human Development and Family Studies

Students enrolled in the UNC Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) program are eligible to apply for an internship at the UNC Rehabilitation Therapies department. The number of placements available will determine the number of applicants sent. See the HDFS program director for more details.

Some of the areas we offer internship placements in are:

• Acute care
• Inpatient pediatrics
• Inpatient rehab
• Audiology
• Outpatient pelvic health
• Outpatient pediatrics

To apply for an internship you need to request Helyne Fredrick to send us the following items:

• Name
• Email
• Resume
• Area of interest for internship placement.

At the deadlines stated below she will send us all applications. You will then be contacted by the Internship Supervisor directly to set up a phone chat or in-person meeting to discuss the internship. We will notify you of our decision on the below listed offer dates.
