UNC Medical Center's Volunteer Services in Chapel Hill collaborates with undergraduate and graduate students to provide meaningful and educational volunteer opportunities that align with the needs of our clinical departments.

Requirements:
- Must be able to fulfill the following time commitments:
- Once a week, 2-3 hour shift (same day/time each week)
- Summer commitment: 3 hours/week
- Two entire semesters out of the three academic semesters in one year: Fall, Spring, Summer (includes both sessions).
- There is a minimum weekly shift requirement based on length of the semester
- You must be a student for both semesters
- If you will be a second semester senior (scheduled to graduate), you must apply after graduation using the Community application.
- Minimum of 50 hours of volunteering (at least 25 hours each semester)
- Completed at least one entire semester at college by the start of volunteering.
- Students who only have finished one entire semester at college must apply using the Area of Need application.
- Able to start the same semester you apply for.

If your application goes through, an automated confirmation email containing details about online orientation, compliance modules, background screening, and immunization requirements due dates. Check your inbox and spam/trash/junk folders for this email. If you do not receive it within minutes of submitting your application, please reapply or contact volsvcs@unchealth.unc.edu.
- Review the Undergraduate Volunteer Immunization and TB Testing Requirements and begin making arrangements to receive any missing vaccines and testing. Please do not wait until the last minute to start this process as it can take several weeks to complete.
